The gîte les volets verts has been restored trying to keep it as authentic as possible. It acually forms part of the walls of the chateau of Cesseras which dates from the 7th century.The chateau has been split up/modified over the years to accommodate family and fortune. This gives this house charm with its old tiled floors at different levels and old walls that are not straight, witnesses of the passage of time. You enter by the old kitchen which we have conserved as a relic of times gone by and use it as a utility room handy for your pushchairs, bikes, etc,we've put the washing machine and a second fridge and freezer there.

on the First Floor...

The Terrace To bring light into the house we have moved the living areas upstairs and based them around a sunny south facing terrace. The kitchen and the lounge form two sides of the terrace, the other two sides being old flowery walls.

There are tables,chairs,sun umbrella,sun chairs and a BBQ

The Loungeis a good size and has an interesting shape, part of the ceiling going up to the roof. There are two large windows leading to the terrace,tables, bureau,chairs and soafa and is equipped with TV, DVD/DivX, broadband internet with cable and WiFi connections, telephone (You can telephone most places in France, Europe, America, Australia for free, handy if your mobile has little reception)

The Kitchen has access to the terrace by two doors plus a window, is large and has a table that will easily seat 8+, there is also a new woodburning stove (Christmas 2008), little stereo, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, gas cooker with oven and 4 rings, fridgeand storage cupboards + cooking utensils, crockery etc. we leave clean teatowels for each occupant

Bedroom 1, Old bed but with modern wooden slatted bed base (140 cm), chest of drawers and hanging space

Bedroom 3, double king size bed (160cm) slatted bed base, chest of drawers and hanging space. This bedroom is technically a mezanine over the lounge but it is very private. Velux window with blackout blind inside and exterior blind to protect from the sun
